The Supreme Court of the United States of America, on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, annulled with a marginal majority any restriction on religious services imposed in New York due to COVID-19.
As reported by the New York Times, the Supreme Court in Washington has banned the restrictions imposed by the liberal governor of New York Andrew Cuomo.
By a vote of five to four, the court struck a blow to the efforts for containment of the COVID-19 pandemic, although in May and July, with a slightly different composition, the court had voted in favor of restrictions on religious services in California and Nevada.
Opposing the majority’s decision against the so-called restriction of religious expression were the president of the Court and three other, liberal members.
