The Zografeion Lyceum was not able to follow the customs as in previous years due to the pandemic. However, the Greek community sang traditional Christmas carols.
A small group of people, led by Principal Giannis Demirtzoglou, gathered in front of the Zographeion Lyceum. Firstly, they crossed Pera Street and reached the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Stavrodromi, where the sang Christmas carols to Metropolitan Germanos of Tranoupolis.
Then, they headed to the Phanar, where they sang Christmas carols and wished all the best to the Ecumenical Patriarch. In addition, carols were heard from the yard of Valoukli Nursing Home. The elderly were looking out of the windows and were singing along. Finally, they wished them: “Have a Very Merry Christmas”!
