On June 26, 2020, the Scientific Council was held at Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary. The session was chaired by the Rector of the educational institution, Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze, Professor, PhD in Theology and Philology. The Rector thanked the members of the council for having gathered for the session and spoke about the high professionalism and spirituality that should characterize all the employees of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary. Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze noted that Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary should be an example of discipline, awareness, aspiration for knowledge, humility, diligence and other Christian virtues.

In his introductory speech, Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze also touched upon the issue of remote learning, which is successfully carried out at Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary. Despite the transition to this type of teaching, lectures were delivered throughout the semester extensively, without any omission.

The Council discussed scientific work, which the departments of TTAS are currently involved in. Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze noted that profound research work should be carried out at this school and textbooks should be published, which will greatly contribute to the professional growth of students of the relevant profile.

The floor was also taken by the other members of the Council. Speeches were delivered by the following colleagues: Archdeacon Demetre (Davitashvili), Head of the Department of Liturgy and Pastoral Theology, PhD in Theology, Professor; Professor Edisher Chelidze, PhD in Theology and Philology (Head of the Department of Patristics and Dogmatics); Archpriest Maxime Chanturia, Professor, PhD in Theology, Professor, (Head of the Department of the History of the Church and Asceticism); Professor Sergo Vardosanidze, PhD in History and Theology, (Head of the Department of the History of Georgia); Lela Khachidze, PhD in Philology, (Head of the Department of the Georgian Language and Literature); Yuri Mosidze, PhD (Head of the Department of Foreign Languages) and others. In respect of the published literature, the departments of Patristics and Dogmatics, that of History of the Church and Asceticism and of History of the Church of Georgia deserve to be marked out. Numerous scientific and theological books have been published here, which is the result of the extensive scientific work currently done at these departments.

At the session, the schedule of the entrance exams of the 2020-2021 academic year for the individual faculties was approved. It will be posted on the official website of TTAS and on Facebook, at the earliest possible date.
