St. Maximus the Greek Institute, with the support of the Vatopedi Monastery, opens the Scholarship Programme “Evgenios Voulgaris”.
Evgenios Voulgaris (1716-1806) was a scholar of the Athonian School, founded by the Vatopedi Monastery.
He was, for his time, the greatest and most important scholar of Great School of the Nation, theologian, philosopher, all-seeing, encyclopaedist, poet, father and priest of the Church; a Pan-Orthodox teacher.
The “Evgenios Voulgaris” Programme is addressed to:
-Orthodox theologians (up to 37 years old), PhD holders or doctoral candidates.
Duration: 1 year (1 October – 30 September) Language of the program: modern Greek
Necessary requirements:
-Good knowledge of ancient Greek, modern Greek and English.
-High level of theological knowledge and outstanding academic qualifications.
-Adequate Microsoft Office knowledge and Internet use.
Purpose and aim of the programme:
The aim of the “Evgenios Voulgaris” scholarship programme is to promote the systematic and high level education in Orthodox spiritual life and theology, through the liturgical and spiritual tradition.
