The Romanian Patriarchate has announced that the amount of aid offered by the Church to overcome the coronavirus pandemic reached another 470,000 euro (2,273,189 Lei) between April 28 and May 4. That brings the total aid offered by dioceses since the beginning of the health crisis to 3,551,390 euro (17,149,663 Lei).

New financial and humanitarian aid offered by the Romanian Patriarchate during the pandemic between April 28 and May 4
The Romanian Orthodox Church has continued the extensive charitable campaign dedicated to those affected by the pandemic, offering, through its parishes and dioceses, substantial and diversified help to the elderly and the poor, to the ill and those with disabilities, to those who are temporarily isolated or in quarantine.
The diocesan centers, deaneries, parishes and monasteries from the Romanian Patriarchate offered financial and material aid in value of 470,000 Euros (2,273,189 Lei) between April 28 and May 4, 2020.
The amount of help offered up to now, which has exceeded 3.5 million Euros (17,149,663 Lei), reflects the strong solidarity manifested by the Romanian Orthodox Church’s clergy and faithful, as well as their capacity to promptly respond to the needs of the suffering and the needy.
