“Nun Iosifia and the small community of the monastery with its workers and benefactors” sign a message of thanks to those who contributed to the establishment of the Romanian Orthodox Monastery of The Life-Giving Spring and St. Ciaran in Ireland.

The monastery was founded on the site of a former Catholic monastic settlement that belonged to the order of Saint Ursula. For the purchase of land and buildings, a fund-raising campaign was initiated, also supported by the American actor Jonathan Jackson.

The amount was fully and generously covered by a donor more than two months before the deadline.

“The payment of the last instalment and the confirmation of the purchase was made on October 29, 2020, the feast day of St. Anastasia the Roman and St. Colman of Kilmacduagh – an Irish saint who lived between 560-632, not far from where our monastery is now,” notes the message that was published on the official website of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe (MOREOM).

The nuns say that “the need for help from those who can and want to help remains. There are still many works in the monastery. Especially building a church in the future. That is why still you can and please continue to help us.”

“We thank all those who have been with us. The prayers were not in vain but were workers of the miracle. May the Lord repay you! Please, remember us in your prayers.”
