Archbishop Anastasios of Albania welcomed joyfully refugees from Ukraine who visited the Holy Monastery of St. Vlasios in Dyrrachio, on Tuesday, April 27, 2022.
The refugees from Ukraine are being hosted in Dyrrachio because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Archbishop welcomed them and was informed about the situation in Ukraine and about the comfortable conditions that the hospitality center in Dyrrachio has provided for them. Afterwards, they were guided through the premises of the monastery complex and learned about its history.
The Archbishop prayed for an end to the war in Ukraine, peace and the safe return of the refugees to their homes as soon as possible. He offered various gifts to the children, who had free time to have fun with games and sports activities prepared by the organizing staff.
The Ambassador of Ukraine to Albania was also present.
