Miroslav Nicolae Petrețchi, President of Union of Ukrainians in Romania, personally thanked Archbishop Calinic of Suceava and Rădăuți for the support offered to the Ukrainians in the archdiocese.
The meeting took place last Thursday, when a delegation of Ukrainians from Romania visited the Archiocesan Centre in Suceava.
Miroslav Nicolae Petrețchi, who is also a member of the Parliamentary Group of National Minorities in the Romanian Parliament, came together with Prof. Ilie Sauciuc, inspector for the Ukrainian minority.
The delegation was received at the Archbishop’s residence by His Eminence Calinic and Fr. Mihai Cobziuc, diocesan counselor.
The representatives of Ukrainians in Romania also expressed their appreciation for the office dedicated to national minorities operating within the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuți. They underlined the support offered by the Eparchial Centre for projects aimed at preserving the cultural and religious identity of the Ukrainian community.
His Eminence Calinic thanked the guests for the special attention that the Union of Ukrainians pays to the churches and communities of Ukrainians in the diocese and to the ethnic Ukrainian residents of the monasteries.
