The Montenegrin Prime Minister, Dusko Markovic, who paid an official visit to the Holy See, characterized his discussion with Pope Francis as interesting and very important. “The most important message of this discussion was that Pope Francis confirmed his arrival in Montenegro next year,” Mr Markovic told reporters, according to a communication by the Montenegrin government.
Mr Markovic also met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State (Head of the Vatican Government), with whom he had – as he said – “a meaningful discussion on all issues of our relations and our cooperation.”
The same communication underlines that Mr Markovic presented the actions implemented by the Montenegrin government in areas related to religious issues. Also during the meeting with the head of the Vatican government, issues were raised regarding Pope Francis’ visit to Podgorica next year.
