A pilgrimage visit to the Monastery of the Archangel Michael (Zeway Hamere Berhane St. Gebriel Monastry) on the shores of Lake Ziway (Batu), 162 kilometers from the Ethiopian capital, in south-central Ethiopia, was made by Greek Orthodox Archbishop Daniel of Aksum, accompanied by the Rev. Archim. Markos and Deacon Aidesios.
In the Monastery, a male brotherhood is practiced under the local Bishop Abuna Gregorios and hosts a Priestly Theological School with approximately 400 students.
Archbishop Daniel had the opportunity to pray in front of the miraculous Icon of Archangel Gabriel and to speak to the seminarians about the Orthodox faith.
He also offered material assistance to the School and distributed blessings to all.
