On Saturday, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew held his established pilgrimage for 20 years now, in Cappadocia.
The Patriarch was accompanied by Metropolitan Tikhon, head of the “Orthodox Church of America” (O.C.A), his Protosyncellus Alexander Rentel, Professor of Canon law at the Theological Faculty of Saint Vladimir, Protodeacon Joseph Matusiak, Deacon Kallinikos Chasapis and Marios Tarinas, one of the Clerks of the Patriarchates.
Later on, the Patriarch officiated at the Vespers at the Temple of Saint Theodore of Malakopi (Derinkuyu), Metropolitan Tikhon and Metropolitan Paisios of Leros, Kalymnos and Astypilaia, Bishop Stephanos of Stratonikia, Petros Mavroidis, Greek Ambassador to Ankara, faithful to the city, and to the families of their families, and to the pilgrims of Crete, Dodecanese, Sparta, Larissa and Thraki.
At the end of the service, President of the Hellenic Cappadocian Societies Theofanis Isakides addressed the Patriarch and welcomed the pilgrims.
On the same evening, the Patriarch and his companions attended a dinner given by Gregory Hadjiehefteriades, the Prefect of the Holy Church of Christ.
On Sunday of All Saints, the Patriarch officiated at the Divine Liturgy. During this, His All Holiness ordained monk Iakovos, from the Monastery of the Lady of the Angels of Gouvernetos, Chania, a deacon.
The Ecumenical Patriarch returned to Constantinople on Sunday afternoon.
