With the blessing of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, the Parish of Saints Constantine and Helen in Perth organized the annual initiative called “Christmas Toy Drive”, which aims to collect children’s toys and donate them to the Children’s Hospital of the capital of Western Australia.
This year, thanks to the immense generosity and love of the parishioners, 515 toys were gathered.
On Wednesday, December 6, the feast day of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, the Hierarchical Head of the Parish of Saints Constantine and Helen, Fr. Eleftherios Gerovasilis, along with members of the Church Committee, personally handed the toys to the volunteers of the Hospital, headed by Andy Wahid. The toys were received with great joy and emotion. Mr. Wahid thanked Fr. Eleftherios and the Greek community from the bottom of his heart for their immense generosity.
The toys offered will be wrapped by the volunteers and distributed to all children and young people up to the age of 15, who are hospitalized at the Hospital of Perth. Their distribution will take place on Christmas morning.
