Bishop Victor Varishevsk from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Patriarchate of Moscow visited with Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem on Monday, March 4.
Bishop Victor was accompanied by Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC-MP, Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich.
During the meeting, the Ukrainian Bishop briefed the Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem on the current situation in the Church of Ukraine.
For his part, the Primate of the Church of Sion has stressed that the church crisis in Ukraine is a challenge for all of Orthodoxy.
Moreover, Patriarch Theophilos expressed his hope that Orthodoxy would find the strength to overcome this crisis by preserving the unity of the Church.
