On Friday, October 13, 2023, Patriarch Daniel of Romania, welcomed the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Romania, Andrew Noble, for a farewell visit at the patriarchal residence.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Robert Innes, the Anglican Bishop of Gibraltar in Europe, and Father Nevsky Everett, the parish priest at the Anglican Church in Bucharest.
Ambassador Andrew Noble highlighted the excellent relations between Romania and the United Kingdom of Great Britain, based on promoting common values such as cultural, economic, and defense within NATO. He expressed gratitude for the constant support offered to the Anglican Church in Bucharest.
Patriarch Daniel appreciated the extensive activity during the five years of the diplomatic mission in Romania of Ambassador Andrew Noble and thanked him for promoting bilateral relations, both between the two countries and between the Romanian Orthodox Church and the Anglican Church, including support for the numerous Romanian Orthodox communities in Great Britain, which number over 1.2 million believers.
During the meeting, the dramatic consequences of armed conflicts such as the one in Ukraine and, more recently, the one in Israel and the Gaza Strip were analyzed with concern for the destructions and, most importantly, the loss of life among defenseless children, women, and the elderly.
