According to the Russian news outlet Fontanka.ru, Patriarch Kirill had traveled to Saint Petersburg today, where he addressed the faithful and local officials after the procession of the holy relics of Saint Alexander Nevsky. However, shortly after his homily, the Patriarch became unwell, prompting an ambulance to be called.
Sources indicate that the cause of his discomfort was excessive heat. After undergoing the necessary medical examinations, Patriarch Kirill was released and returned home to rest.
