On September 6, 2024, the first day of parliamentary elections for the Moscow City Duma, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow exercised his right to vote. In a notable departure from tradition, the voting took place in the Throne Room of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, rather than at a typical polling station.
The parliamentary elections are being conducted over a three-day period, from September 6 to 8.
