On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem received Metropolitan Kyril of Kazan of the Moscow Patriarchate, who was accompanied by his priests and the representative of the Russian Spiritual Mission to Jerusalem (MISSIA) Archimandrite Nikon.
In this meeting, Patriarch Theophilos presented to Metropolitan Kyril the pastoral, pilgrimage, and pacifying work carried out by the Patriarchate amid the ongoing and raging war in Gaza, where our Patriarchate in the Monastery of Saint Porphyrios grants asylum to 400 members of its Community under the Most Reverend Archbishop Alexios of Tiberias and Hieromonk Sila.
Metropolitan Kyril informed Patriarch Theophilos about his Pastoral activity in the Holy Metropolis of Kazan and asked and received from the Patriarch permission to officiate at the Holy Shrines during his stay here.
