Patriarch Ilia of Georgia, along with the chief priests and clergy of the Patriarchate of Georgia, received the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshükür Pashazade, along with his entourage, on Thursday, July 21, 2022.
The Patriarch spoke about the importance of the steps taken in the past years for the peaceful coexistence of people of different faiths and emphasized the need to maintain and deepen friendship.
The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office thanked the Patriarch of Georgia for the reception and conveyed the warm greetings of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
He also emphasized the special respect he has for Patriarch Ilia II, adding that he came to Georgia with the members of the delegation to shake hands with the Patriarch and receive his blessing.
