Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and All Africa spoke on MEGA television about the special conditions created due to the coronavirus, but also about the next day.
Patriarch Theodore referred to his feelings when he celebrated the Palm Sunday Liturgy without people, noting that it was something unprecedented.
“The Hellenic minority left here is small and gives us joy when we see them in the services,” the patriarch of Alexandria stressed.
At the same time, he stressed that the faithful should be courageous in these difficult days and that if we have patience and hope, better days will come. “Let us see our own Golgotha in the Crucified Jesus, but let us not focus only on this. We will wait for the Holy Fire for our own Resurrection,” he added.
Finally, the Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa spoke about the missionary work of the Greek Orthodox Church in African countries. He said he had visited Malawi and Mozambique in the past, and that when the coronavirus’ difficulties were over, he would travel to Rwanda, Burundi and Congo.
