Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa welcomed the Deputy Governor of Alexandria, Dr. Jacqueline Azer, to the headquarters of the Patriarchate of Alexandria as reported by ekalexandria.org.
Conveying his heartfelt greetings to the Governor of Alexandria, General Mohamed El-Sherif, the Patriarch said to Dr. Jacqueline Azer on the occasion of her visit to the Patriarchate of Alexandria as part of the “NOSTOS” program:
“I would like to welcome the Governor of Alexandria on your behalf. And I am happy because every day, every minute I see that a beautiful city is developing. Alexandria is the queen of the Mediterranean; even though our president lives in Cairo, I know that the heart of President el-Sisi is in Alexandria. And he wants to see the city to be the Lighthouse, as has always been the case.
I welcome the deputy governor and I would like to send a message of happiness to the governor and to those who dream of a humane, peaceful, friendly and beautiful Alexandria.”
On her part, the deputy governor of Alexandria expressed her joy at her visit to the Patriarchate of Alexandria, stating:
“It is my pleasure to be here today at the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria. We are here with the group of Greeks, Cypriots and Egyptians of the “NOSTOS” program, which is an initiative of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to strengthen the Egyptian identity to young people of different nationalities around the world.
I would like to warmly thank the Patriarch of Alexandria and for the great hospitality. Thank you!”
