The Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Theodore II, sent a message of support to our fellow human beings in his Encyclical for Christmas 2020.
In his Christmas message, Patriarch Theodore spoke of all modern problems and understood the concerns that prevail worldwide. He used words that aim directly at our hearts in order to soothe the bitterness we have been feeling lately. He also said that our souls have been crying out of fear.
In addition, he referred to the coronavirus pandemic and the problems that caused market disturbances. “The sound of music, no matter how loudly it reminds us a secular celebration, it cannot conceal the fact our souls are crying,” he said.
However, unlimited peace reigns in the manger, since the wisdom Christ brought us is timeless. In the midst of this bleak period of Christmas 2020, Christ brings a message of hope and, therefore, the Patriarchate of Alexandria and Africa is the manger for all people who have been tested in the ordeal. Patriarch Theodore sends a message full of light, love, faith, hope from afflicted Africa to the whole world.
