In a letter of solidarity with Antioch Patriarch, Patriarch Daniel of Romania underlines the fact that more and more Christians, from different parts of the world, fall victims to extreme manifestations of violence and hatred.
Patriarch Daniel refers to the terrorist attack at the Orthodox Christian village of Suqailbya, near the city of Hama, where four innocent children died, along with an adult, in the village church building of the village and who were buried on Sunday, May 12, 2019.
The Romanian Patriarch expresses his sorrow, and notes “with great concern that more and more Christians, regardless of age, from different parts of the world, fall victims to extreme manifestations of violence and hatred, and unfortunately many times faith itself is misused in committing these abominable acts against the sacred gift of life that comes from God”.
As Daniel says, in these moments of suffering, “we pray to the Merciful God to rest in His peace and love the souls of those who have been killed and to heal the wounded ones.”
