The first three days passed smoothly in the indoor gym of All Saints Grammar in Belmore suburb which currently operates a temporary COVID-19 vaccination center.
It is reminded that the area of the Parish-Community of All Saints was provided free of charge to the Ministry of Health of New South Wales for the implementation and acceleration of the vaccination program.
In fact, Greek-Australian volunteers from the Belmore Parish and the Hellenic Welfare Center of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia provide valuable assistance to the health services staff, as reported by vema.com.au.
From Wednesday to Friday, August 18-20, citizens received more than 1,500 doses, including many expatriates.
The building will continue to operate as a vaccination center for the next two weeks, that is, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. It is not excluded that there may be an extension if this is deemed necessary based on the needs and attendance of the public.
It is noted that in this temporary vaccination center only the Pfizer vaccine is given to people aged 16 to 59 and to those over 60 if they have a relevant medical certificate. Those interested can make an appointment through the website.
It is reminded that, on the occasion of the decision to operate the gym of the All Saints Grammar School as a pop-up vaccination center, Archbishop Makarios of Australia urged everyone, Greeks and non-Greeks alike, to support this effort, each according to their position and strength, with the aim of overcoming the current pandemic as quickly as possible.
