On Monday, 26 December 2022, Metropolitan Job of Pisidia, following the exhortation and permission of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, presided over the Divine Liturgy, at the Holy Church of Saint Nicholas Tzivaliou, during which he performed the priestly ordination of Stanislav Voloshchenko, who holds a Ph.D. in History from Ukraine.
In his address, before the ordination of the new priest, Metropolitan Job of Pisidia mentioned, among other things:
“And you, dear father, are called today to serve the spiritual needs of the Ukrainian-speaking parish of this Queen of Cities, Constantinople. You are called to enlighten the souls and bodies of the faithful through the mysteries of baptism and the Eucharist, to accept the confession of sins, to pray for the healing of bodily ailments and for the remission of sins, to bless marriages, to pray for those who have fallen asleep, and to preach the Gospel of freedom from sin.”
The new priest received the name Methodios and will serve in the Holy Church of Saint Nicholas, which has been allocated for the needs of the Ukrainian-speaking Community of Constantinople.
The Consul General of Ukraine in Constantinople, Roman Nedilskyi, joined by certain officials of the Consulate and many Ukrainian-speaking faithful were present for the ordination.
