On Sunday of the Paralytic, May 19, 2019, Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia officiated the Divine Liturgy of Orthros (Matins) and then the Archieratic Sacred Service with the participation of many clerics, at St. Anargyroi Holy Metropolitan Church in Nea Ionia.
During the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan ordained the deacon of the Metropolitan Church, Konstantinos Kostopoulos, as a Presbyter.
Metropolitan Gabriel referred to the Mystery of Priesthood, by which our Lord, Jesus Christ, calls and establishes, through His Bishops, His Church ministers. Metropolitan of Nea Ionia also appealed to father Konstantinos to become this kind of cleric who safely leads the faithful congregation to our Lord, and the spiritually disabled and paralyzed to salvation.
