A new church dedicated to the Saint Photini, The Samaritan Woman, has been completed and is ready to be handed over to the Christians of Northern Madagascar.
This orthodox church was built with the donation of an anonymous woman from Australia, as Fr. Panagiotis Papaioannou posted on the Facebook page “Mission Friends of North Madagascar.”
Fr. Panagiotis spoke about a great missionary feat in the Orthodox Metropolis of North Madagascar under the supervision and the personal contribution of Metropolitan Ignatius as reported by vema.com.au.
“Despite the COVID-19-related difficulties, the lack of staff, and the great financial difficulties of the Metropolis, the projects are completed and multiplied with the help and mediation of the Lord,” he stated in a relevant post, “The Metropolitan’s missionary program is based on three pillars; charity, the spread of the Holy Gospel and the construction of churches.”
It is pointed out that all the orthodox churches in the northern part of the African island country have been built with financial contributions offered exclusively for this purpose as a votive offering by Greeks from Greece, Cyprus, Australia, the USA and Canada.
