New Chief Secretary of the Patriarchate of Alexandria

The Vesper of love and litany of Resurrection was held at the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St. Savvas of Alexandria on Easter Sunday by Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, who officiated at the Vesper of Love.

The Consul General of Greece in Alexandria, Athanasios Kotsionis, representatives of the Hellenic Community of Alexandria, representatives of Institutions and Associations of the city, and a number of believers and visitors attented the service.

According to the ritual of the Church, the Holy Gospel was read in various languages; Greek by Theodore II and German, Latin, English, French and Arabic, by the clergy.

Before the end of the Easter Mass, in the Hall of the Throne of the Patriarchal Monastery of St. Savvas, Patriarch Theodore II promoted the former Director of the Private Patriarchal Office, Archimandrite Nicodemus Totkas, to Chief Secretary of the Ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa.

The Chief Secretary, born and groomed by the Greek Diaspora from Berlin, served for five years the Alexandrian Throne at the Holy Metropolis of Ioannoupolis and Pretoria, South Africa, as Head of the Greek Community of Klerksdorp, in the North West province.
