Mayor Lazaros Kyrizoglou of Ampelokipi-Menemeni and President of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece seized the opportunity to visit the Ecumenical Patriarchate on Thursday morning, where he had the honor of meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and receiving his blessing.
Accompanied by Metropolitan Barnabas of Neapolis and Stavroupolis, Kyrizoglou presented the Ecumenical Patriarch with a letter expressing gratitude for his recent recognition with the Offikion of Archon Laosynastis of the Holy Great Church of Christ.
This prestigious title, bestowed upon individuals for their significant and longstanding contributions to the Church, was conferred upon Kyrizoglou by Metropolitan Barnabas during a special ceremony at the Church of Zoodochos Pigi on Sunday, January 21, 2024.
