On Monday, June 12, Metropolitan Panteleimon of Naucratis, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa, met with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Constantinople.
During the meeting, the Metropolitan expressed his love and respect for the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Patriarch Bartholomew, while conveying the wishes of Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, to Him and the Ecumenical Throne.
The Ecumenical Patriarch thanked the Metropolitan of Naucratis for his visit to the martyred Phanar, as well as for his substantial contribution to the successful convocation of the Joint International Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Orthodox and the R/Catholic Churches in Alexandria, Egypt, recently.
He also spoke with heartfelt words about the ongoing missionary and humanitarian work of the Alexandrian Church in Africa, while praising the sacrificial offer of Patriarch Theodore II and his devoted associates to the suffering peoples of Africa.
It is noted that the Metropolitan of Naucratis is currently in Constantinople, representing the Patriarchate of Alexandria in the work of the inter-Orthodox scientific conference, which takes place at the Theological School of Halki.
