On March 3, 2024, Metropolitan Kyrillos of Kifissia presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Nicholas of the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s office in Athens. The occasion coincided with the name day celebration of Metropolitan Theodoritos of Laodicea, who serves as the Director of the Office.
During the liturgy, Metropolitan Kyrillos delivered a sermon centered on the Parable of the Prodigal Son from the Gospel, emphasizing the boundless mercy and paternal love of God towards all Christians. He stressed the importance of revering the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Mother Church, and offered respects to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
Additionally, Metropolitan Kyrillos extended heartfelt wishes to Metropolitan Theodoritos of Laodicea on his name day, conveying prayers for his continued health and fruitful ministry. In a special recognition of dedication and service, Archimandrite Seraphim Tsimiklis was honored with the Ophikkion of the Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne. Archimandrite Seraphim had faithfully served at the Church of Prophet Elijah in Pangrati for over six decades, showing unwavering commitment to his ecclesiastical duties.
