Metropolitan of Kissamos: our homeland needs confessors of faith and witnesses of conscience

The great pilgrimage of Saints Fotios and Anikitos, a building of St. Mister John Xenos (11th century), located in Falasarna of Platanos parish in Kissamos, celebrated the memory of these two great martyrs.

Metropolitan Amphilochios of Kissamos and Selino officiated at the Vespers, and referring to the two celebrated Saints, he noted: “Eighteen centuries have passed since the martyrdom of these holy figures of our Church that could not erase from our memory Fotios and Anikitos. If we want our own footsteps in the present world to be imprinted and recorded over the centuries, we need to understand and realize that the only safe and secure path and way is the confession of faith.

Our society, our country, our homeland, need more than ever confessors of the faith and witnesses of conscience,” he noted.
