Memorial service for the victims of Pontian Genocide at Patriarchate of Jerusalem

Archbishop Aristovoulos of Madaba, who comes from Paslah town of the Archdiocese of Kologne, continuing his long-term tradition, asked and received the blessing by Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem and after midnight on Monday to Tuesday, May 18 to 19, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Sepulchre, with a memorial service for the repose and the salvation of the souls of the hundreds of thousands of victims of the genocide of the Greeks of Pontus by Turkey. The years’ range starts from the time of Komninos’ Dynasty up to the present, and especially during the years 1916-1922.
