On Friday, April 12, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov met with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
The Patriarch and the Minister exchanged views on different issues, such as the Ukrainian one.
Mr. Lavrov argued that “The common working group of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Church frequently exchange views and thoughts on different situations concerning areas where Orthodox Christians live, such as Middle East”.
From his part, the Primate of the Russian Church emphasized that “The Church has an active role in the field of international relations, and it is really useful to exchange opinions on topics that have to do with Orthodoxy worldwide”.
