On Saturday, May 22, 2021, the Mayor of Constantinople, Ekrem İmamoğlu, paid a visit to the Halki seminary along with his spouse and his associates.
The mayor was warmly received by the Abbot, Bishop Kassianos of Aravissos, and the monastic brotherhood.
During the meeting, the abbot spoke to the mayor about the history of the Seminary and its importance for the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and the current context of its action and operation.
The mayor, who showed great interest in the Seminary, said it was one of the most important and historical monuments of Constantinople.
After the interesting discussion he had with the abbot, the mayor and his associates were shown around the church, the classrooms, the library and the premises of the Seminary, and expressed his admiration for its operation.
After walking in the gardens of the Seminary, he warmly thanked the abbot and the brotherhood for the welcome and hospitality.
