Silence accompanies the great hours of the Saints, the sacred hours of reflection, of self-concentration, of self-denial, of study, of prayer.
Silence covers the research, the vigilance, the discovery of the wise scientist.
Silence covers the torment of the suffering, the needy, the unhappy.
In the hours of silence the great miracles are performed, the unknown heroic deeds, the secret personal revolutions, the acquaintance with our unknown self.
Thus we have the important silence of the Saint, the supreme silence of the wise, the patient silence of the hero, the exact silence of the patient and persistent, the evangelical silence of the self-sacrificing.
We are tired of the uncontrollable babbling, nonsense and superficial words. Their cost is heavy, they alter the essence, the first, the important, the crucial and sacred.
We need the rest in the golden silence, the precious hearing, the experientiality of the necessary reasons. We need a resistance to crude and easy reasons.
It is worth to calm down and rest to hear the low voice of God, the anxious voice of our conscience, the teaching voice of the sacred past, to sincerely repent.
