After almost three years of work, the Region of Central Macedonia is now on the home strait with regard to the certification of a very important religious, cultural, pilgrimage and tourist route: “In the footsteps of St Paul the Apostle of the nations“.
By creating a partnership with the Paphos District in Cyprus and the Lazio Region in Italy, the three countries present a common tourism product in collaboration with the European Network of Cultural Tourism in Belgium.
Speaking to ANA-MPA, the Head of Tourism Department of Central Macedonia Region, Alexandros Thanos, said, “This is the first certified cultural route of Central Macedonia by the Council of Europe, which will help stimulate tourism in the post-coronavirus era, as it is a magnet for many visitors from all over the people who want to follow the path of the Apostle to the Nations while getting to know the places Saint Paul visited.”
