Hierarchs of the Church of Crete, led by Archbishop Eirinaios of Crete, and Archbishop Makarios of Qatar were welcomed at the Phanar by the Ecumenical Patriarch.
Archbishop Eirinaios of Crete, Metropolitans Andreas of Arkalochori and Damaskinos of Kydonia and Apokoronos, and Archbishop Makarios of Qatar, who is of Cretan origin, visited Constantinople for the ordination of the newly-elected Bishop Eirinaios of Evmeneia, Abbot of the Holy Patriarchal and Stavropegic Monastery of Our Lady of the Angels (also known as Gouverneto Monastery).
In the afternoon, after the Vespers Service, along with Metropolitans Amphilochios of Kissamos and Selino and Kirill of Ierapitni and Sitia, the Ecumenical Patriarch welcomed the Bishop of Knossos, who is the Chief Secretary of the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Church in Crete, and Dimitrios Milathianakis, who is the legal counsellor of the Church of Crete. The delegation of the Eparchial Synod paid a visit to the Ecumenical Patriarch in order to discuss several issues of common interest.
The delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Metropolitan Dimitrios of Princes Islands, as Chairperson of the Synodical Committee on Eparchies Abroad and Orthodox Mission, Archimandrite Ioakeim, as Chief Secretary of the Holy and Sacred Synod, and Grand Archdeacon Theodoros, as Secretary of the Synodical Committee, was also present.
