Abbots Alexios and Archimandrite Gabriel, as well as monks of their Brotherhoods, paid a pilgrimage visit to the Phanar and thanked the Ecumenical Patriarch for having visited the Xenophontos and Pantokratoros monasteries.
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew recalled memories of his visit there where he was warmly welcomed. He also participated in the events organised by the Hierarchs of Mount Athos, who expressed their love and devotion to the Mother Church. In addition, he pointed to the existence of strong ties between the Phanar and Mount Athos.
