Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Kostas Vlasis is expected to arrive today in Mariupol in southwestern Ukraine, where a large number of Greeks live in Ukraine.
Kostas Vlasis is expected to visit the University of Mariupol, the Federation of the Greek Societies of Ukraine, etc.
The deputy minister is expected to travel to Greek villages in the area, right next to the area where the Russian/hybrid army and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are clashing.
Kostas Vlasis will be accompanied on the tour by the President of the Federation of the Greek Societies of Ukraine, Alexandra Protsenko, and by the Greek businessman living in Ukraine, Pantelis Boubouras.
Yesterday, the deputy minister met with Greek expatriates in Kyiv. The meeting was attended by Ukrainians of Greek origin, professors of the Department of Greek Studies at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Greek businesspeople and others.
On behalf of the Greek Embassy, the meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Greece to Ukraine, Vassilis Bornovas, the outgoing First Counselor of the Embassy, Alexandros Boudouris, and members of the staff.
The Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Ukraine, Bishop Mikhail of Komana, also attended the meeting.
