Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities and Tourism lit up in red the Great Pyramid of Giza (also known as the Pyramid of Cheops), the largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex (Giza Necropolis), sending a message around the world to stay home and protect themselves from the Coronavirus spread.
The illuminated Pyramid featured brief messages in Arabic and English that said -among other things- “stay home, stay safe.”
“Egypt wants to send a message to its citizens and all around the world to stay home and protect themselves and their families,” Minister of Antiquities and Tourism Khaled Anany said.
