An end is put on the issue that had recently arisen regarding the ailing former Patriarch of Jerusalem Irenaios, as he is finally moving to Athens in order to receive the right treatment.
According to parapolitika.gr, the former Patriarch consented and signed today the documents required for issuing a passport and other travel documents.
Following this development, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Diamataris instructed the Greek Consulate to provide every possible service to the Patriarch and issue his passport immediately, so, the arrival of the former Patriarch Irenaios in Athens is a matter of days.
The news has just arrived from the Holy City of Jerusalem. Patriarch Irenaios is expected in Athens after the issuance of his passport and other required documents.
As it seems, he will be transferred to the Center for Gerontology and Welfare Support of the Archdiocese of Athens, in Dilesi Boeotia, since the open invitation of Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens is always valid.
The wing at the Center for Gerontology that will be hosting the Patriarch is reportedly ready.
