Metropolitan Stephanos of Tallinn and all Estonia presided over today’s Co-Liturgy at the St. Nicholas Metropolitan Cathedral in Volos with Metropolitan Ignatios of Demetrias and Bishop Epiphanius of Olvia. The Church of Greece spells the end of the issue regarding the recognition of the Church of Ukraine.
It concerns the first Co-Liturgy performed by a Metropolitan of the Church of Greece and a Bishop of the Church of Ukraine, after the official decision on the matter of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece last Saturday.
This happened one day after the Patriarchal and Polyarchieratic Co-liturgy in Thessaloniki, where they commemorated Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kiev and all Ukraine for the first time in Greece.
Bishop Epiphanius of Olvia was a clergyman in the Metropolis of Demetrias, who sought a Letter of Release (apolyterion) in order to be elected and ordained Bishop of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Today, he concelebrated again the Divine Liturgy with a Bishop of the Church of Greece, since the Church of Ukraine is officially recognised.
