Saint Sava, the first Archbishop of Serbia, was celebrated with the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy officiated by Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia in the covenant church of the Serbian people in the Vracar district in Belgrade, on January 27, 2022.
Patriarch Porfirije was concelebrated by the Bishops Stefan of Remesiana, Jerotej of Toplica, Sava of Marca, numerous presbyters and deacons, among which there was also archpriest Leonid Kalinin, President of the Expert Council of the Russian Orthodox Church for Church Art, Architecture and Restauration. The singing of the choirs of the Saint Sava Cathedral church contributed to the beauty of the holy service of God.
At the end of the Eucharistic assembly, Patriarch Porfirije consecrated the slava gifts and blessed the faithful people who filled the Saint Sava Cathedral church. The Patriarch congratulated Patron Saint-day to the youngest, their teachers, all those who have been learning from kindergartens to the highest academic institutions.
The festive gathering was attended by the Director of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities, Vladimir Roganović, and the world’s best tennis player, Novak Đoković.
