The Feast of Luke the Evangelist was solemnly celebrated in the homonymous Church in Birmingham.
Bishop Maximos of Melitini presided over the service, accompanied by the Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese, Archim. Nikodimos Anagnostopoulos.
In his sermon during the Vespers, which was attended by clergy of the city, the Bishop developed the challenges of modern evangelism and foreign mission, while, in his sermon at the Divine Liturgy, he spoke about the pericope of the day.
Bishop Maximos of Melitini was welcomed by the two priests of the Church, Fr. Christos Stefanou and Fr. Nikolaos-Loukas Karafillidis, the President of the Community, Anastasios Menoikou, and the faithful, while he conveyed the blessing of Archbishop of Thyateira.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, they offered a holy icon of all the Saints of Cyprus to the Bishop and hosted an official meal in his honor.
