Following an official invitation, the Ecumenical Patriarchate announced that Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew would attend and speak at the 14th World Policy Conference, which this time will be held in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, on October 1-3.
It is recalled that the Ecumenical Patriarch also participated in the previous conferences of the World Policy Conference in various cities organized by the French Institute of International Relations (Institut français des relations internationales – IFRI).
The Ecumenical Patriarch will be accompanied by Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, who has also been invited to the conference, and Patriarchal Deacon Barnabas Grigoriadis.
During his stay in Abu Dhabi, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will also meet with senior officials.
The Ecumenical Patriarch will also travel to Rome and will be hosted at the Vatican. There he will meet Pope Francis and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, with whom he co-signed and recently issued a joint statement on the natural environment and other current problems of humankind, and will participate in various other official events.
