Hurricane “Ianos” has left behind three dead, a missing person and huge damage to infrastructure, businesses, homes and agricultural production.
The elderly man who had been missing was found dead today, on Sunday, by the Karditsa fire service. He fell from the roof of his house in the village of Kastania, which collapsed due to heavy rain.
An elderly woman from Farsala was the first victim of the severe bad weather, while a 63-year-old farmer of Albanian origin was found dead in Karditsa.
Meanwhile, according to information from the Karditsa Fire Department, investigations are being carried out by the competent authorities to find a 43-year-old female driver, who has been missing in the area of Mouzaki. Her car was found yesterday.
In addition, according to information, shepherds who are in a livestock unit in Makrychori, remain in the area and do not want to be transferred to another place. Efforts will be made by the competent authorities today to supply them with basic necessities.
