With the blessings of Archbishop Elpidphoros of America, Bishop Apostolos of Medeia, during his recent Pastoral visits to the southern states of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of New, together with the Chancellor of the Metropolis, the Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Christoforos Oikonomidis marked the celebration of the New Year with the traditional cutting of the Vasilopita with the area clergy of Southern Virginia and Maryland/Northern Virginia Regions.
The regional clergy and their families gathered together at the Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Newport News, VA for the Southern Virginia Region and at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Baltimore, MD for the Maryland/Northern Virginia Regions.
Bishop Apostolos expressed the paternal love and blessings of the Archbishop and offered his gratitude to all of the clergy and their beloved Presvyteras for their dedication and commitment to their most important service and ministry to the church.
These beautiful gatherings provided a wonderful opportunity for the area clergy and their families to share in an afternoon of fellowship with Bishop Apostolos and with one another.
