Metropolitan Amfilohije (Radović) of Montenegro made some sharply critical remarks against Serbian president regarding Vučić’s statement that there would be no recognition of Kosovo without a “compromise solution”.
Speaking at the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Novi Pazar, the Metropolitan of Montenegro criticized those politicians who spoke of “Kosovo’s legacy” as a form of “mythology”, recalling that this legacy is fully incorporated in the history and the nation of the Serbian people.”
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić, sent an open letter to Metropolitan Amfilohije about “cutting remarks” against President of Serbia.
In this letter, Marko Đurić did not deny Metropolitan’s right to express his opinion. However, the director stressed that Metropolitan Amfilohije accused the Serbian president for “addressing the Orthodox people” and showing not how he had already acted, but how he could have acted.
It is recalled that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated that Serbia would accept Kosovo’s independence only if Serbia got something concrete in return.
