Interdisciplinary Conference on “Challenges of Religion in the Age of Globalization” was held on Thursday, May 2, at the St. Vlasius Orthodox Theological Academy in Durrës, Albania, with the participation of Department of Islamic Studies of University College “Badr”, and Catholic Theological Institute “Ndërdioqezian”.
One of the conclusions of the conference was that in the case of questioning religious beliefs, which are an expression of spiritual condition and way of life, there is a risk of spoiling the promotion of peaceful coexistence.
However, religions must adhere to the respect for the human person, the proclamation and realization of the equality and solidarity of people, the value of freedom, and the overcoming of the egotism in order to attain true love.
The transcendence offered by Religion can reassure our existential anxiety.
Dean of the St. Vlasius Orthodox Theological Academy, Jeffery MacDonald, opened the work sessions of the conference.
