Case file against Metropolitan of Corfu and faithful who attended Palm Sunday service

The Prosecutor of Corfu, Dionysios Lambridis, established a case file against Metropolitan Nektarios of Corfu and Diapontia Islands, Mayor of Central Corfu, Meropi Idraiou, the Chair of the Municipal Council, Dimitris Metallinos, and all those who attended the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint Spyridon, except for those who were allowed to participate provided by law. The case file was established for infringing the order and the joint ministerial decision on the implementation of laws and mandates by the Holy Synod.

The relevant case file was established by the prosecutor of Corfu because during the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint Spyridon, yesterday morning – in addition to the priests, deacons and chanters and sextons who are allowed to be present – the mayor of Corfu, the chair of municipal council and some believers, three of whom, two men and one woman, received the Holy Communion, despite the bans.
